Living Goods

Mission:  To empower micro-entrepreneurs to deliver life-changing products to the doorsteps of the poor.

Where they work: Uganda, Kenya, Myanmar & Zambia

Our partnership:  We supported Living Goods from 2014 to 2018 with unrestricted grant funding, including match-funding from our sister non-profit Hampshire Foundation.

Living Goods operates ‘Avon-lady’-like networks of women entrepreneurs who go door-to-door in their communities teaching people how to improve their health, whilst selling affordable products such as simple treatments for malaria and diarrhea, fortified foods, safe delivery kits, clean cook stoves and solar lights.
A 3-year randomised control trial showed that Living Goods is reducing under-5 mortality by over 27 percent, and it is able to do so by also creating livelihoods for thousands of women entrepreneurs.
