Educate!

Mission: To develop young leaders and entrepreneurs in Africa.

Where they work: Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya

Across Africa millions of young people finish school – and yet they find themselves unemployed or earning less than $2 per day.

Educate! is an ambitious initiative aiming to transform education in Africa by delivering a skills-based model of education comprised of entrepreneurship, leadership and workforce readiness training for 16-20 year-old youth. The programme enables the students to create small businesses so they can significantly improve their livelihoods – earning double the income of their peers after graduation.

In 2017 Educate! is directly reaching students across more than 450 schools in Uganda and Kenya. In addition, Educate! has partnered with the Rwandan government to bring about education and curriculum reform at the national level.

Our partnership: We have supported Educate! since 2016 with unrestricted grant funding from our sister non-profit Hampshire Foundation.
